The NFL League year started about a week ago. The Steelers have already made a lot of game-changing moves to help them be the team that wins the Super Bowl.
One of their significant moves is trading a 2025 second-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks for WR D.K Metcalf. This is a massive move because Pittsburgh needs a wide receiver to go next to George Pickens. The Steelers did not sign former first-round pick Najee Harris (RB). The Los Angeles Chargers signed him to a 1 year, 5.25 million dollar contract.
Most fans are excited about the new signings and hope the Steelers will be a dominant team in the league. There still are a few problems. First and most importantly, Pittsburgh does not have a good quarterback situation (as of when writing this article). Although they have signed former Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph to a 2-year deal, he has nine interceptions through 5 starts, and he is not the best choice for Pittsburgh. Russell Wilson was one of the quarterbacks last season; he performed ok throughout, but he is currently testing free agency and the Steelers let go of Justin Fields, and he is now with the New York Jets for 2 years, 40 million dollars.
The Steelers are also interested in Former Jets and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, though he is waiting to see other teams’ offers. Pittsburgh is also heavily interested in the draft. They have talked with Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe at his pro day, and many mock drafts have the Steelers taking Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. Another problem is the lack of offensive line talent. This has been a problem for the past couple of years and is far from among the best.
Although the year has just started, teams are making moves, and the Steelers need to find interest in players and make moves before they are signed by someone else. Pittsburgh has done much so far, but they need to do more to improve. This season will be exciting, and we must be patient to discover what happens next. Moves are happening left and right, and all we can do is wait. More is to come as the NFL draft is coming up at the end of April. The Steelers are currently sitting at pick 21 and do not have a second-round pick as of the D.K Metcalf trade. The season is in about 6 months, and we must wait and see what moves are made.
