Journalism, also known as the High Post, has many things you can do. You can write about nearly everything! You can draw pictures, write about sports, local news, features, and beyond. The best part about this class is that you can have fun with your friends!
In the High Post, you can be an editor, a staff writer, a sports writer, or a staff artist. There are all sorts of opportunities up in the high school if you want to continue on doing what you’re doing with Mrs. Welty.

If you’re thinking about being an editor, you supervise the staff writers, looking for mistakes that you can fix, and you work on printing the newspaper. However, you have to take journalism for 2 years to become an editor. In your first year of Journalism, you’ll be a staff writer. You can write about sports, local news, a student/teacher feature, or your own ideas! Do you like drawing? Then listen here. On the High Post, there are drawings by Maria Fetter, who is a staff artist for the Post. This job in journalism requires the ability to draw digitally or on paper. This also requires knowing how to work websites like Canva.
